NMR Panopticum: Interference with Neighbor |
 |
A neighboring NMR spectrometer operating at the same field strength and running proton-decoupled carbon-13 NMR causes decoupler sidebands in the
proton spectrum. The magnets are 6-7 m apart, the consoles about 4-5 m. |
Possible solutions:
- For various reasons, this is not bothering us much, therefore we live with it.
- One solution could be to alter the operating frequencies of both spectrometers by cranking up one and lowering the other; this is limited by the range
of the FIELD setting on the BSMS. (Actually, we tried this approach, but the separation was not sufficient.)
